Vice President Sales Marketing

Position Summary:

As the Vice President Sales and Marketing, you will be responsible for leading and developing the sales and marketing team, driving business development, growing, and managing relationships with key accounts to achieve sales targets and objectives. Develop and execute sales strategies, plans and programs that support the business, and customers, both nationally and internationally. The Vice President Sales and Marketing will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers across the animal health sector including research laboratory, poultry, livestock, exotic, and companion animals, etc.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the sales and marketing team through hands-on leadership, defining and communicating performance expectations, coaching, and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and objectives, including sales targets by markets, distributors, territories, and key accounts.
  • Develop and implement go to market activities that support business objectives, including marketing programs, key account development and distribution partnerships.
  • Embrace company culture, promote teamwork, drive accountability and collaborate with business partners (Finance, HR, Operations, R&D) to deliver company objectives.
  • Sales, marketing and business special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science related field such as biology, animal science, genetics, animal nutrition, physiology, or other. MBA degree welcomed.
  • 10+ years of Sales experience with at least 3 years in sales management and 3 years in key account management in a life science or animal health related field.
  • Proven success in managing and developing a sales and marketing team, achieving sales targets and understanding of the sales process from prospect to close.
  • Experience in sales force management software tools is essential; HubSpot or Sales Force a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Travel as needed to attend trade shows, conferences, and meetings with customers and prospects. Ability to travel up to 40%, occasionally more when warranted.

Work Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment is hybrid with a minimum of 2 days in the office monthly.
  • Corporate office or remote home-office location.
  • Available for on-call requests, requiring travel after normal work hours.
  • Heavy lifting – regularly required to lift product or equipment in excess of 40 lbs.
